Brighton-based reiki master Rifa Bhunnoo is now tackling this challenge head-on,
taking reiki into the Premature Baby Unit at Sussex General Hospital and developing
new reiki practice aimed at expecting parents and newborns.
This year, couples from across the UK have been coming to see Rifa to learn this
ancient healing technique and receive treatments. Rifa says:
"Reiki can help with fertility, pregnancy and children's illnesses. It's just a matter of
removing tension at a time where the body is often stressed on many levels.The body needs
to relax completely to do its job properly, whether you're trying to give birth, nurture a child
or make a baby in the first place!"
Ruth Sharman, from Brighton, went for one-hour treatments over three consecutive weeks:
"I had some reiki in the summer and I'm now 4 months pregnant.
It was in the time that I was having reiki that I must have conceived,
so I wanted to say a big, big thankyou! as I'm over the moon!"
Children are very receptive to reiki and can even receive reiki attunements safely.
